Held in conjunction with the College National Finals Rodeo which was voted the "Best Multi-Sport or Multi-Discipline Collegiate Event for 2009" by Sports Travel Magazine, the Style Show raises funds for the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Foundation. The Foundation was created in 1994 within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code to carry out certain educational and charitable activities in connection with the sport of collegiate rodeo.
A few activities include:
Injured Athlete Relief Fund
Historical Preservation Fund
Scholarship Fund
Rawhide (Rodeo Athletes on Wellness) Fund
Although the event is called a style show and the audience is entertained by the Wrangler All Star Contestants (in 2010 coming from the Ozark Region) displaying clothing donated by Wrangler, the focus is on generating funds for the Foundation. The live auction and silent auction generate $10,000 to $15,000 each year for this worthy cause.
The style show is being held again at the Parkway Plaza. All attendees receive a goodie bag. There will be door prizes, wine on each table, games and raffles, and many auction items. This year, we have already received several George Straight autographed items, boots donated from Justin, watches donated by Montana Silversmiths, and many more exciting items. In addition, each college rodeo region brings in items unique to their area which gives attendees the opportunity to acquire items not otherwise available in Casper.
